Last night we had to put our “old girl” Sheba to sleep. She was 17 and had lived a spoiled life with us. Sadly, she had arthritis in her hips and was no longer able to get around. We tried desperately to improve the time she had with us at the end, but there was nothing that was working. I know she is in a much better place now.
As difficult as this was for us, I was not planning on getting another dog for a short while. I wanted to give us the time to deal with Sheba’s loss. That however was not in the great plan for our life.
Meet Mickey. He’s a lover. The shelter figures he’s about a year old. He has a lot of energy and has been partially trained. I figure that it was meant to be, that no matter how much I was fighting the urge to go see what the shelter had I ended up there anyway. I’m glad that we have a new member of the family.
I have been getting a bit of knitting done. I’ll share it tomorrow.
Happy Knitting.
